Tuesday, November 13 - Sias International University held the 2019 Employment & Entrepreneurship Mobilization Conference at the Basketball Arena on the 12th of November. The Conference was set up to build on the high employment rate of Sias graduates and the culture of entrepreneurship at the university, to enhance current students' awareness of the challenges of employment and entrepreneurship, and help future graduates to have a realistic view of their chances for career and job selection.
The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Sias President, Chen Sikun, Executive President, Wang Jialin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Vice President, Wu Hua, Assistant Principal, Guo Xuede, and the Chairman of the Jin Shang Catering Group, Yang Hua, attended the Conference. The heads of the departments, academic schools, and residential colleges were in attendance as well.
Dr. Chen delivered a mobilization report on employment and entrepreneurship for the 2019 Graduates. He spoke about the job market and entrepreneurial landscape over the past few years. He encouraged graduates to work towards innovation to overcome hurdles they may face in employment, be aggressive in their search for jobs, persevere, broaden their minds, and pursue their career goals through innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Chen also said that Sias would increase its support for students' endeavors in employment and entrepreneurship, expand employment channels, and build diversified platforms for employment and entrepreneurship. Sias would also uphold its commitments to international education, increase international exchanges and cooperation, and provide better opportunities for students to study and work abroad.
Later, the Chairman of the Jin Shang Catering Group, Yang Hua, who was an outstanding graduate of the class of 2011, spoke of his entrepreneurial experience. He spoke of the qualities and skills needed to be highly employable and entrepreneurial and encouraged students to pursue internships in their senior year.
In his summary of the Conference, Sias Vice President, Wu Hua, said that the employment scenario for the graduating class of 2019 was more competitive than ever before with a decrease in job opportunities and difficult working environments. He said that students should have a good sense of the challenges that they would face and encouraged them to plan for internships as soon as possible. He also said that students should make use of the large recruitment fair on the 17th of November at Sias.
