Friday, December 7 - The 2019 Provincial Conference on Employment and Entrepreneurship of University Graduates was held in Zhengzhou on the 6th of December. Vice Governor, Huo Jinhua, Party Secretary and Director of the Provincial Department of Education, Zheng Bangshan, and Deputy Inspector of the Provincial Department of Education, Li Jinchuan, were among the senior guests. Sias President, Chen Sikun, was invited to the conference and delivered a keynote speech.
In his speech, Chen Sikun spoke about the history and development of Sias International University over the past 20 years, as well as its modern methods of innovation and entrepreneurship education which integrated teaching, practice, incubation, and promotion. He pointed out that by relying on the high-quality educational resources of Zhengzhou University, Sias had gradually explored methods of employment and entrepreneurship with its own characteristics that integrated the advantages of Chinese and American education. He also spoke about the many awards that Sias had won in the recent past.
Chen Sikun then shared his own experience concerning the innovation and entrepreneurial work being carried out at Sias. He put forward 3 important steps to be followed for institutions with aspirations for such progress:
1. Innovation education and modern entrepreneurship education should be implemented holistically. The success of the "Three Combinations" of teachers and students, teaching and practice, and schools and enterprises, are crucial to this. The use of resources such as the Future Information Technology Institute (FITI) at Sias for management guidance, education, and entrepreneurial experience for students is necessary.
2. The integration of the advantages of Chinese and Foreign resources should be used to actively expand employment channels for graduates. This refers to the increase and deepening of cooperation with international organizations, and relying on their resources to broaden recruitment platforms at colleges and universities.
3. The improvement and promotion of employment and entrepreneurship on a basis of the complete understanding of the employment situation for graduates, by forming a cooperative and innovative working mechanism where leaders in the industry take a vested interest in the welfare and guidance of the graduates. This new method of cooperation between educational institutions and enterprises has proven to be very successful.
Sias, he said, had continuously worked towards the improvement of its system, development, innovation, and atmosphere by implementing a variety of schemes to improve the employment and entrepreneurship education and make lasting contributions to regional employment levels through education.
The Vice Governor of Henan, Huo Jinhua, also delivered a speech. He said that in 2019, all localities, relevant departments, and universities should strictly adhere to the guidelines and laws implemented at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the National Education Congress, and the National Congress on Employment and Entrepreneurship of University Graduates. This, he said, was crucial for graduates to successfully gain employment. He said that education and guidance from educational institutions played a crucial role in all of this.
The Party Secretary and Director of the Provincial Department of Education, Zheng Bangshan, said that under the guidance and leadership of the Henan Provincial Party Committee and Henan Provincial Government, the educational system of the entire province was implementing Xi Jinping's ideology of Socialism with Chinese characteristics. The number of university graduates had continued to increase and had fueled economic growth in the region through the entrepreneurial work of graduates.
