Monday, August 3 – Sias University held the 2020 Sias Student Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition on the 3rd of August. Vice President, Xu Shengdao, and the Head of the Employment & Entrepreneurship Department attended the opening ceremony of the competition. The rules and methods of evaluation for the competition were shown in a live broadcast.

To encourage students' enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship during the pandemic, and as per the rules for competitions in the province of Henan, the opening ceremony and competition were held online. The online competition adopted a '5+3+1' method - each project presentation should not exceed 5 minutes (including a 1-minute video demonstration), the judges should ask questions for no more than 3 minutes, and the scoring was to be given in 1 minute.

A total of 186 entries were registered for the competition, among which, 26 online live broadcast projects were recommended through qualification examinations and screening. The projects covered information technology, advanced manufacturing, e-commerce, intelligent medical objects, modern agriculture, environmental protection technology, cultural innovation, and other fields. Over 3,000 people watched the contest online. The awards in the finals include the first, second, and third prizes, excellent awards, and financial awards. Six projects will be selected to represent Sias University in the provincial finals.
