Wednesday, September 16 – Sias University held the 2021 Graduate Employment & Entrepreneurship Mobilization Conference on the 15th of September at the Basketball Arena. The Mobilization Conference was held to address issues with employment for the 2021 graduating class brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic and to guide them in getting the right perspective concerning career selection and employment.
The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen; Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng; Executive President, Wang Jialin; Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng; and Vice President Xu Shengdao, attended the conference. Representatives of enterprises, alumni, tutors, and leaders of various departments including the Communist Party Committee, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department, academic schools, and residential colleges were also present.
Dr. Shawn Chen presented a report titled "Employment and Entrepreneurship Mobilization of 2021 Graduates" which gave a detailed analysis of the employment situation of university graduates in China, and the employment and entrepreneurship situation of Sias graduates in recent years, with data and charts. Based on Sias' educational and teaching resources and wide international exchange platform, he presented an analysis on the choices of graduates of Sias that included their further education, studies abroad, job hunting, enlistment, and grassroots employment. He encouraged the graduating class of 2021 to not be afraid to face difficulties and setbacks, be positive and enterprising, broaden their ideas of employment and increase their chances of employment through innovation and entrepreneurship.
Based on detailed data on the current employment climate, the Regional Manager of Zhaopin Recruitment, Zheng Yanan, spoke about the quality, focus, and skills required of graduates in job selection and employment, focusing on the supply and demand structure of graduates and enterprise recruitment, job hunting preferences, and the mentality of students. He also gave guidance on the creation of résumés and interview skills.
The Chairman of Henan Kongtang Tea Industry, Han Gang, shared the qualities and abilities required for successful employment and entrepreneurship. He shared his own experiences and successes and failure when starting a business. He said that he hoped that students would take positive actions towards integrating into society through cooperation and an entrepreneurial mentality, to gain experience that would create the right conditions for success.
Xu Shengdao pointed out that although the employment situation for this year's graduates (2020) was serious, the Communist Party of China and the national government issued a series of policies to ensure employment. Sias University will also take measures to provide employment guidance and services for all university graduates. HE said that he hoped that graduates would have a clear understanding of the situation, adjust their conceptions, improve their self-confidence and apply for jobs as soon as possible.
