On the morning of May 26, Sias International University held an opening ceremony for its new library. Chief guests at the opening ceremony included Deputy Director of the Henan Province Department of Culture, and Honorary Chairman of the Henan Library Association, Kang Jie; Former President of Henan Medical University, Zheng Yuling; Director of the Henan Province Department of Public and Cultural Services, Cui Yushan; Deputy Director of the Henan Library Association, and Social and Public Culture Researcher at the Henan Department of Culture, Zhang Dexiang; Director of the Henan Province Library Curator Association, Kong Dechao; Deputy Director of the Henan Province Library Association, Shen Shaochun; Chairman of the Henan Province Science and Technology Information Society, Zhu Mingshu; Dean of the Henan Institute of Science & Information Technology, and Vice President of the Henan Library Association, Chu Mingchao; Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Henan Province Universities & Colleges Library and Information Committee, Cui Bo. Sias was represented by the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen; Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang; President, Dr. Chen Sikun; Executive Vice President, Dong Qiming; Proctor, Han Xiaoai; and Assistant Principals Sun Rujian and Guo Xuede. Dr. Chen Sikun presided over the opening ceremony.

Dr. Shawn Chen delivered the opening speech. He welcomed the leaders and guests who attended the ceremony and thanked all those involved in the development of the new library. He said that university libraries play a great role in disseminating knowledge, nurturing talent, and aiding teaching and scientific research. The New Sias Library will continue to improve its management methods, unceasingly add to its collection of resources, will strive to improve the quality of service provided, and will contribute to the construction and culture of Henan province.

Deputy Director of the Henan Province Department of Culture, and Honorary Chairman of the Henan Library Association, Kang Jie, also delivered a speech. On behalf of the Henan Province Department of Culture, she congratulated Sias for the library and said that a library was the symbol of the quality of a university. She hoped that Sias will use the library to encourage cultural and local development in Xinzheng.

After these speeches, a book donation ceremony was held, with former President of Henan Medical University, Zheng Yuling, donating books from the Nanjing University Press and Chongqing University Press. Kang Jie, Zheng Yuling, Kong Dechao, Dr. Shawn Chen, and Fei Hexiang, then jointly opened the New Sias Library.

The New Sias Library was designed by American architect Prof. Peter Weiss and his team from the University of Maryland. With 15 floors, and a total area of more than 67,000 square meters, the library includes a Learning Center, Experience Center, Research Center, Recreation Center, as well as group learning spaces, rest areas, digital art application displays, multimedia reading areas, and a Virtual Reality (VR) Experience Center. The library has been set up to encourage self-service, with study areas and a large number of computers to help students reach their potential.
