Shih Chien University delegation visits Sias

A delegation from Shih Chien University visited Sias International University on August 30 and 31. The delegation included the Director of Cross-Strait Affairs, Guo Shouwang, and the Director of Cross-Strait Exchanges, Liu Weiting. The delegation had meetings with Sias' Office of International Relations.


Sias' Director of the Office of International Relations, Yue Junliang, welcomed the delegation and toured the Sias campus with them. He gave them a detailed introduction of Sias' history, international ties, and development goals for future cross-strait relations. The Dean of the Academic Affairs Office, Wang Xiaoquan, spoke to the delegation about Sias' educational philosophy, courses, and enrollment. The Director of Human Resources, Wang Qiuhong, spoke of the nurturing of talent at Sias, and cross-strait faculty exchanges.


The Director of Cross-Strait Affairs of Shih Chien University, Guo Shouwang, spoke of the running of the university, and its faculty training. He said that he hoped that Shih Chien University and Sias International University could establish cooperative relations. The two sides spoke in detail about the possibility of student and faculty exchanges, study tours, and cultural projects.


Shih Chien University has two campuses, one in Taipei and the other in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. Founded in 1958 as Shih Chien School of Home Economics, it has grown into one of the best private universities in Taiwan. It has a wide range of schools including a College of Human Economics, College of Design, College of Management, College of Business and Information, and College of Human Ecology. Its Masters in Industrial Design program was listed among the "best 30 design programs" in the world by Business Week in 2009.
