Sias holds Fire Evacuation Drill for Foreign Faculty

For the improvement of fire safety in the foreign faculty residence building, Sias International University held a fire drill on the morning of May 20. The fire drill was organized jointly by the Sias Security Office, the International Cooperation and Exchange Department (ICED), the Logistics Department, the Administrative Office, and the Xinzheng Fire Department. Members of Sias' foreign faculty and their families took part in the fire drill that included tests for the fire escapes, emergency dispatches, and departmental coordination for firefighting.


In order to ensure that the fire drill was safe and effective, the management and staff related to Sias' foreign faculty coordinated and took part in the drill. The Security Office also created plans for emergency rescue in coordination with the foreign faculty.


The Deputy Party Secretary of Sias, Li Huafeng, the Dean of the School of International Cultural Exchange, Chu Jinjin, and the Directors of the Logistics Group, Qin Nan and An Shuwei, were present in a supervisory capacity at the drill. The drill included the setting off of the fire alarm in the foreign faculty residence building, artificial smoke to simulate conditions during a fire, and the use of designated fire escapes for an orderly evacuation. Members of the local Fire Department engaged in simulated emergency rescue work.


The entire fire drill and evacuation, which included the setting up of a medical outpatient post, was completed within 10 minutes.
