Sias Foundation Board holds annual meeting in Los Angeles

The annual meeting of the Sias Foundation Board was held in Los Angeles, USA, on October 13. The Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, attended the meeting along with members of the Board of the Sias Foundation. They held in-depth discussions on the strategies for the continued development of Sias, the operations of the foundation for the 2018/19 academic year, and the funding and sponsorship of the 20th Anniversary Celebrations at Sias.


Dr. Chen spoke about the development of Sias in the past year, the successful completion of the transfer to being a private university, and the preparatory work for the 20th anniversary of the university. He also discussed the strategic plans for the development of Sias in the future. He said that the development of Sias in the past 20 years could not have happened without the support and contributions of the Sias Foundation. He thanked the members individually for their contributions and hoped that the Foundation would increase and expand its support to Sias.


The Treasurer of the Sias Foundation Board spoke about the financial status and performance of the Foundation. Board members shared their opinions and suggestions with regard to broadening the channels for raising funds for Sias Foundation Scholarships.


At the meeting, a new President of the Sias Foundation was elected, as were new Vice Presidents. New members of the Sias Foundation Board were also formally announced. Dr. Edward Johnson (Founder & President of University Growth Solutions) was elected to be the new President, while Paul Rusnak (Founder & Chairman of the Rusnak Auto Group) and Rahim Amidi (Founding General Partner of the Amidi Group) were elected as the new Vice Presidents. Dr. Bob Bohanske (Chief of Clinical Services & Clinical Training at Southwest Behavioral & Health Services) and Matthew Schenk (Principal of Cave Creek Unified School District, and Academic Associate at Arizona State University) were announced as new members of the Board.


Dr. Chen encouraged the new Sias Foundation Board to continue to grow in its operations, aid in the development of international alumni associations for Sias graduates, and increase its support for the growth and development of Sias. Dr. Chen also extended invitations to all the Board members to visit Sias during the 20th anniversary celebrations. He said that the celebrations were of great significance to Sias and he hoped that it would lead to a new chapter in the development of the university.
