FHSU delegation given Honor Guard

May 26, 2018

On May 25, Sias International University welcomed a delegation from Fort Hays State University (FHSU), that included their new President, Dr. Tisa Mason. The Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, and Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun, were at the Welcoming Ceremony that was held in front of the Administration Building.

The delegation was welcomed, with the Sias Marching Band also taking part in the ceremony. Following the raising of the FHSU flag, Dr. Shawn Chen and Dr. Tisa Mason delivered speeches.

Dr. Shawn Chen welcomed the FHSU delegation, and said that while this visit for Homecoming and Graduation was an annual visit, it was special because it was the first time that Dr. Tisa Mason was visiting as the new President of FHSU. He said that the partnership between Sias and FHSU dated back to the year 2000 and that they had played a vital role in the development of Sias as it stands today. FHSU remains Sias' main partner university, and close to 10,000 students had graduated from the dual degree set up between the two universities. He said that he truly appreciated this partnership and cooperation.

The President of Fort Hays State University (FHSU), Dr. Tisa Mason, said that she was honored to receive the Honor Guard and a special welcoming ceremony on behalf of FHSU. She said that this tradition between Sias and FHSU was wonderful. She concluded by saying that she looked forward to spending more time at Sias with students and faculty, and thanked Dr. Shawn Chen for inviting her to Sias for the Homecoming and Graduation weekend.
