From April 16 to 17, Sias International University hosted the 12th International Forum on Chinese Culture. The annual Forum was organized by the Chinese Yan Huang Culture Association, the Chinese Pre-Qin History Society, the Huang Di Hometown Construction Promotion Council, and the People's Government of Zhengzhou City. It was also sponsored by the Zhengzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and the People's Government of Xinzheng. The opening ceremony of the 12th International Forum on Chinese Culture, also known as the International Forum on Huang Di (Yellow Emperor) Culture, began at Sias International University on the afternoon of April 16.
A large number of dignitaries from across China visited Sias for the Forum[See full list below]. The Sias leadership was present, including the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen; Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng; President, Chen Sikun; Executive Vice President, Dong Qiming; Vice President, Liu Shuqin; Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng; Sias Proctor, Han Xiaoai; and Assistant Principals, Sun Rujian and Guo Xuede. Over 1,000 representatives from across China's cities and provinces and over 40 journalists were present at the Opening Ceremony of the Forum. The theme of the 12th International Forum on Chinese Culture was "Huang Di Culture and the New Era". Using the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (in 2017) as a guide, the Forum was aimed at the inheritance, and carrying forward, of traditional Chinese Culture, centered on Huang Di Culture. The goal was to maintain a sustained consolidation and improvement of the hometown of Huang Di as a global Chinese ancestral shrine, a spiritual home for the Chinese nation, and to enhance and provide unity to Chinese people both at home and abroad. This was the 10th time that the International Forum on Chinese Culture has been hosted by Sias International University.
The opening speech was delivered by Xu Guangchun. There were also speeches by Liu Jianwu, Liu Dong, Zhang Xiqing, Song Zhenhao [See list below for designations]. The forum was hosted by the famous CCTV host, Liu Fangfei. At the forum, there were presentations by Li Bo, Zhu Yian, and Du Wenlong, on Chinese poetry, history, strategic analysis, and the security of China.
At the closing ceremony on the 17th, there were speeches and presentations by Li Bo, Zhu Yian, Du Wenlong, Zhang Qicheng, Wei Dongqing, Wang Yin, Fang Jinlong, and Xu Guangchun [See list below for designations].
The 12th International Forum on Chinese Culture brought together experts and leaders from different fields, with different perspectives on Chinese culture. The Forum managed to cover the length and breadth of Chinese culture, with a special emphasis on Huang Di, and his legendary hometown of Xinzheng.
