Organized by the Henan Provincial Committee of Communist Youth Leagues and sponsored by the Henan Provincial Federation of Students, Sias International University hosted the First Image Design Contest on December 8. The Minister of the Henan Provincial Communist Youth League, Chen Yong, the Director of the Office of the Communist Youth League, Lin Yucheng, Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun, and Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, were present at the final stage, and awards ceremony. The judges included Professor Guan Jie from the Zhongyuan University of Technology, Professor Ding Tao from the Henan Art Vocational College, Professor Jia Shiqiu, the Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Sias, and Tian Yan, an internationally certified make-up artist.

The competition is the first of its kind in Henan. The preliminary stages went on for more than 2 months with 106 contestants from 25 universities. The final stage involved 36 contestants and was divided into three categories, individual image design presentation, team image design presentation, and creative modeling. The judges said that they gave points based on the contestants' concepts, creativity, teamwork, and presentation.

Nima Dunzhu, from Anyang University, won the main top prize. Winners of other categories included Zhang Guanyu, Wang Xiaoqian, and Zhang Xuefeng. The Minister of the Henan Provincial Communist Youth League, Chen Yong, Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, and Secretary of the Communist Youth League, Zhao Zuwei, presented the awards and issued certificates to the winners at the end of the competition.

Image design is based on presentation and features, as well as factors such as temperament and unique talents. Contestants also pit their styles against one another, which involve unique clothing and dress styles, hairstyles, colors, and make-up. Across the variety of categories, students compete to present a self-designed image of themselves.
