Sias International University held its Spring Festival Celebrations on January 17. Members from all departments and colleges, as well as members of the faculty, were present at the function. The chief guests included the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, Party Secretary Ma Jiansheng, Executive Vice President Dong Qiming, Vice President Liu Shuqin, Deputy Party Secretary Li Huafeng, Proctor Han Xiaoai, Assistant Principals Sun Rujian and Guo Xuede, and former Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang.

The function began with a video produced by the Sias News Center in which the University leaders wished the staff and students. Dr. Shawn Chen then delivered his New Year's Speech. He thanked the staff for their hard work towards the development of Sias and said that 2018 was the beginning of the 20th Anniversary of Sias. He said that this year was crucial because the great amount of work for Sias to gain independence from Zhengzhou University would bear fruit. The significance of this, he said, would be extraordinary. He encouraged Sias to carry on with its entrepreneurial spirit and educational excellence and continue to have the courage and dedication to innovate.

Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, said that 2017 was a landmark year for the CCP and China, and also Sias. The development and transformation at the University had produced evident results. He charged those present to take new steps forward in ethics, achieve more with regard to recruitment and employment, and forge ahead together to make Sias have an impact both domestically and internationally in the coming year.

The speeches were followed by a series of performances and dances by members of the Sias Art Troupe, faculty, and students.
