On June 13, the "AI-Empowered Education Innovation Seminar," hosted by the Henan Provincial Education Informatization Association and organized by Sias, was convened at Sias Library. Yang Xueyong, Second-Grade Inspector of Education Department of Henan Province, Director of Science & Technology Division of Education Department of Henan Province; Peng Yaning, Fourth-Grade Researcher of Science, Technology and Informatization Division of Education Department of Henan Province; Kong Fanshi, Vice President of the Henan Provincial Association for Educational Informatization; Ma Jiansheng, Secretary of the CPC Sias Committee; and Prof. Lucy Lu, Provost and Vice President of Sias University, attended the event. Over 100 representatives, including heads of informatization departments and faculty members from more than 70 universities across the province, gathered to explore the deep integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology with educational and teaching reforms, injecting new momentum into high-quality education development. The seminar was moderated by Li Xia, Director of Sias Department of Information Construction and Management.
On behalf of Sias, Ma Jiansheng extended a warm welcome to the guests and experts. He elaborated on Sias's proactive explorations and phased achievements in smart campus construction and AI-empowered educational model innovation. He emphasized that Sias would take this seminar as an opportunity to further deepen educational and teaching reforms, promote the widespread application of AI technologies in talent cultivation, scientific research, and management services, and strive to establish itself as a pioneering hub for AI-empowered education innovation, contributing to the modernization of regional and national education.
In his address, Yang Xueyong stressed that AI-empowered education represents an inevitable trend in reshaping educational paradigms and cultivating talents for the new era. It also serves as a critical pathway for deepening institutional development, enhancing educational capacity, and serving national strategies and regional development. He encouraged all participants to actively explore the "Henan Path" for AI-empowered education and inject new vitality into building a strong education province.
Kong Fanshi, in his speech, highlighted the strategic opportunity presented by AI in reshaping education and advocated for transitioning toward a new educational ecosystem characterized by personalized learning, precision teaching, and intelligent management. He emphasized that AI applications must be grounded in practice, serve the fundamental task of talent cultivation, and act as a "digital assistant" for educators.
During the presentation session, Huo Xiaowei, Director of the Future Education Technology Center of Sias Department of Information Construction and Management, delivered a speech titled "AI Empowering Multi-Domain and Multi-Scenario Applications in University Education: A Case Study of Sias University." He shared practical cases of Sias's applications of AI in teaching, management, services, and evaluation, offering a replicable "Sias Model." Zhang Chi, Director of the Informatization Office of Communication University of China, analyzed the transformative challenges posed by AI technologies to university governance structures, decision-making models, and service processes in his presentation, "Reflections and Practices on University Governance System Construction in the AI Era," and shared CUC's exploratory experiences. Xu Gangtao, Secretary of the Artificial Intelligence College of Zhengzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College, elaborated on how AI technologies, under party leadership, can empower education and promote the development of "Five Golds" (gold majors, gold courses, gold faculty, gold bases, and gold textbooks) to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents in his speech titled "Party Building as Guidance, Education as Empowerment: Promoting the 'Five Golds' Development." Representatives from Jinghua Education Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Hanbor Information Technology Co., Ltd. showcased, from an enterprise perspective, cutting-edge applications and practical achievements of AI in advancing teaching model innovation and enhancing classroom interactivity and learning outcomes.
Following the seminar, participating guests toured Sias's Smart Campus Exhibition Hall, observing innovative application scenarios such as immersive virtual simulation teaching. They gained an in-depth understanding of Sias's practical achievements in leveraging AI technologies to promote the integration of teaching and research and enhance management efficiency and service levels. The guests highly commended Sias's solid efforts and innovative accomplishments in advancing the deep integration of AI and education.
The successful holding of this seminar has provided a high-level exchange platform for participating universities, deepened the understanding of AI's transformative role in education, forged consensus on development, and clarified practical directions. Taking this seminar as a new starting point, Sias will continue to deepen educational and teaching reforms, intensify research and practical efforts in innovative applications of AI technologies in education, and actively play a leading role in contributing to the digital transformation and intelligent upgrading of education, as well as the construction of a high-quality education system.
