Sias International University held the 2017 Autumn Job Fair on November 4 at the CUBA Training Facility. The Job Fair was set up to alleviate the pressure of employment on students and provide guidance toward the right career path. It was organized jointly with the Henan Department of Education and the Employment & Entrepreneurship Department of Sias. Chief guests at the Job Fair were the Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department at the Henan Department of Education, Xue Zuolin, and the Head of the Employment Department at Lian Jia Recruitment, Ling Dengbo. Sias was represented by the Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang, Vice President, Liu Shuqin, and the Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng. Students from the graduating class of 2018 were present as well.
Vice President, Liu Shuqin, who presided over the Job Fair, introduced the guests and spoke about the preparations for the event. Sias Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang, thanked all the guests and recruiters present for their support towards the employment of Sias graduates. He said that Sias attaches great importance to the employment of its graduates, continually carrying out career planning and employment guidance activities, as well as organizing large-scale job fairs and recruitment events. He said that he hoped that the employers and recruiters would focus on the practical needs and long-term development of students. He encouraged students to understand the current job market, have realistic goals with regard to employment, work hard, and contribute to their families, society, and the nation.
The Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department at the Henan Department of Education, Xue Zuolin, said that university graduates were the driving force behind an increase in national resources, and therefore, the employment of university graduates is important for the well-being of society as a whole. This in turn, he said, was the key to national economic development and social harmony and stability, and has always been valued by the Party and the government. He said that in the future the Henan Department of Education will continue to support other departments and will focus on employment strategies and policies, so as to improve the system for employment and entrepreneurship for university students.
The Head of the Employment Department at Lian Jia Recruitment, Ling Dengbo, praised Sias' fusion of Chinese and Western educational philosophies, and the dedication to fostering internationally-focused talents. She also spoke about the well-rounded education and the implementation of an oral English education at Sias. She said that both students and recruiters should take the Job Fair as an opportunity to focus on innovation, and not miss out on the win-win situation that comes about because of the cooperation between universities and enterprises with regard to resource sharing, and common development.
Outstanding graduate representative, Li Yupeng, thanked Sias for the education and training that his class (of 2018) had received. He said that as they work towards their future, they will not forget what they learned at the beginning of their lives at Sias, and would aim to be humble, focused, and would give back to society.
In order to improve the quality of recruitment, Sias International University implemented a strict screening and selection process, with 618 enterprises making the cut. These enterprises who came for recruitment were from Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Jiangsu province, and Zhejiang province. Over 12,600 jobs were on offer from a variety of companies, of whom 123 enterprises were listed companies, such as GOME Electrical Appliances, New Oriental Education & Technology Group, YJBYS.com, Lian Jia Real Estate, Bright Dairy & Food, Uni-President Enterprises, Bank of China International (BOCI) Securities, Tsingtao Brewery, Blue Moon, and Fengshen Tires.
