Vice President of Shu-Te University visits Sias

The Vice President of Shu-Te University, Dr. Yen Jih-Rong, visited Sias International University on June 26. He was accompanied by the Director of Shu-Te University's Beijing Office, Liu Xingyan. The two-member delegation was met by Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun, Executive Director of the International Cooperation & Exchange Department (ICED), Julian Yue, and the Dean of the School of International Cultural Exchange, Jinjin Chu. The delegation was given a campus tour and visited Sias' new library as well.


At the official meeting, representatives of the two universities discussed the history, culture, and educational philosophies of both schools. They agreed to promote the exchange of students and the sharing of educational resources. Dr. Chen Sikun said that students at Sias were encouraged to reach out to universities around the world so as to increase their exposure and improve their quality. He said that he hoped that cooperation between the two universities would grow, and welcomed students from Shu-Te University to learn more about the culture in the Central Plains. Dr. Yen Jih-Rong expressed his gratitude and said that he was impressed by Sias' campus and growth. He said that he was looking forward to increased cooperation between the two universities.


Shu-Te University was established in 1997 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, and was upgraded to a University of Science & Technology in 2000. It has 5 colleges including the Colleges of Management, Informatics, Design, Applied Social Sciences, and Liberal Education. These colleges include 19 departments as well as 9 research institutes.
