President of University of Akron visits Sias

The President of the University of Akron, Matthew Wilson, visited Sias International University on April 28. The Visiting Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Akron, Dr. Liu Xiuhua, accompanied President Wilson on this visit. They met with the Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, and had talks with the deans of the School of Business, the School of International Education, the School of Law, the School of International Cultural Exchange, the School of Journalism & Communication, the head of the Human Resources Department, and heads other relevant departments as well.


Accompanied by Dr. Shawn Chen, the delegation toured the Sias campus in detail and was introduced to Sias' history, ethos, and international campus culture. President Wilson expressed his appreciation for the development of Sias and its East-meets-West philosophy.


After the campus tour, President Wilson signed an Agreement of Cooperation with Sias International University, focusing on student exchanges, internships, teacher training, and in-depth cooperation.


Founded in 1870, the University of Akron is a public research university in Akron, Ohio, United States. The university focuses primarily on industries such as polymers, advanced materials, and engineering. It offers about 200 undergraduate and more than 100 graduate majors, and has an enrollment of approximately 27,000 students.
