18th International Culture Week begins

Sias International University held the opening ceremony for its 18th International Culture Week on the morning of October 31. The International Culture Week was set up to enhance students' knowledge of traditional cultures around the world, and enable students to fully experience the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.


The chief guest at the opening ceremony was a renowned Folklorist from the Academy of Social Sciences in Liaoning Province, Qu Yanbin. Sias was represented by the Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen; Party Secretary Fei Hexiang; Sias President Dr. Chen Sikun; Vice President Liu Shuqin; Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng; Proctor, Han Xiaoai; and Assistant Principal, Sun Rujian. Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department (ICED), William Lu, presided over the opening ceremony.


During the International Culture Week, each day is designated for a specific region, namely, China Day, Asia Day, Latin America & Africa Day, Europe Day, and North America & Australia Day. Students and foreign teachers put on a visual showcase of different cultures, with musical and dance performances, games, and lectures.
