Sias Founder visits Hawai'i Pacific University

October 13, 2015

From September 21 to 23, Sias Founder and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, visited Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU) in Honolulu, Hawai'i, U.S.A. The visit was a response to an invite from Dr. Geoffrey Bannister, President of Hawai'i Pacific University.

Dr. Shawn Chen and Dr. Bannister toured the campus and exchanged views on matters related to cooperation in the running of their schools. Later, Dr. Chen toured the university's Hawai'i Loa Campus with the Executive Vice President for Administration and General Counsel, Janet Kloenhamer.

The next day, Dr. Shawn Chen met with the Board of Trustees of Hawai'i Pacific University - Chairman Joachim Cox, Senior Financial Vice President James Ajello, and President of QSR-Hawaii Karen Huffman - to discuss international cooperation projects between Sias International University and HPU. They expressed their appreciation for Sias' educational philosophy and gave their full support for cooperation between the two universities.

Hawai'i Pacific University was founded in 1965 and is Hawai'i's leading private, non-profit university with nearly 7,000 students. It is also one of the most culturally diverse universities in the USA, with students from nearly 80 countries. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and the National League for Nursing.
