Sias International University hosted Henan Province's first Student Music Festival on October 19 and 20. The festival was organized by the Henan Department of Education and the Henan Musician's Association.

The guest list included dignitaries such as the Party Secretary of China's Musicians Association, Han Xinan, the Deputy Director of the Henan Provincial Department of Education, Diao Yuhua, the Secretary-General of the Henan Musician's Association, Li Zhongdang, the President of the Henan Art & Education Association, Shi Pin, the Director of Health & Arts in the Henan Provincial Department of Education, Guo Weiwei, a member of the CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference), President of the National Federation of Literary and Art Circles, President of the China Wind Music Society, and Director of the Military Band of the PLA (People's Liberation Army), Yu Hai, and the Deputy President of the China Wind Music Society, and Secretary-General of the Military Band of the PLA, Jiang Siwen. Members of the Sias hierarchy were also present - Sias Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang, Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun, Vice President, Liu Shuqin, and Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng.

The opening ceremony of the festival began with the Sias band playing during the flag-raising and the national guards show. Sias Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang, delivered the welcome speech. He congratulated the school and spoke of his pleasure that Sias was hosting the first Student Music Festival in Henan province. He welcomed the leaders and spoke of Sias' unique educational philosophy of 'East-meets-West'. There were also speeches by Diao Yuhua, and Yu Hai. After the ceremony, the guests, accompanied by the school leaders, went on a campus tour.

Several guests gave speeches and lectures during the festival and were officially recognized as guest lecturers at Sias. The 2015 Henan Student Music Festival had 70 bands taking part, which included 2,258 students and 269 teachers.
