Sias International University began its 17th International Culture Week to enhance its students' knowledge of cultures from around the world. The opening ceremony was held on November 2, at the Italian Square on Sias' campus.
Present at the opening ceremony were Sias founder and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun, Sias Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang, Vice President, Liu Shuqin, Vice President, Guo Aimin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Supervisor, Li Haijun, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department (ICED), William Lu, the founder of Plug and Play and co-founder of the Sias-Amidi Incubation Center, Rahim Amidi, the Executive Vice President of the Chinese Culture Institute and former Deputy Commander of the Zhengzhou district police, Wang Jinyu, and other folk artists.
Dr. Chen Sikun delivered the opening speech and announced the official opening of Sias' 17th International Culture Week. Wang Jinyu also spoke at the ceremony and said that Sias was an attractive university because of its development, campus layout, buildings, training facilities, and unique focus on students' learning through international education, all the while encouraging students to be innovative.
This was followed by a traditional Chinese Lion Dance and several cultural activities including gourd pyrography, calligraphy, portrait sketching, sculpture, and even rice writing. There were also performances by Chinese folk artists in the Italian Square, and student presentations of Chinese cultural traditions.
Sias International University will host its International Culture Week from November 2 to 7. The scheduled days are China Day (November 2), Asia Day, Latin America & Africa Day, Europe Day, North America Day, and International Day (7th). It promises to be a visual and cultural feast with both students and teachers working together.
