Sias opens its First International Photography Exhibition

Sias International University opened its first International Photography Exhibition on November 9, 2015. The goal of the exhibition is to improve the exchanges of Chinese culture and foreign cultures through the medium of photography. The photographs were taken by teachers and students of Sias. The exhibition was organized by the Administrative Office, Student Affairs Office, the Communist Youth League, International Cooperation and Exchange Department (ICED), School Unions, the School of Journalism & Communication, and the School of Art & Design. The Exhibition was held at the exhibition hall on the first floor of the Administration Building.

Guests at the opening ceremony included the Provost of Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU), Dr. Matthew Liao-Troth; Dean of the Business School at HPU, Dr. Deborah Crown; Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen; Sias President Dr. Chen Sikun; Vice President Guo Aimin; Deputy Party Secretary Li Huafeng; Proctor Han Xiaoai; and Supervisor Li Haijun. There were also department heads and members of the Administrative Office, Student Affairs Office, ICED, the Communist Youth League, and students and teachers.

Dr. Chen Sikun delivered a speech and pointed out that a photography exhibition, showcasing domestic and international photographs, that followed the 17th International Culture Week showed the expansion and effect of the Culture Week. Following this, Dr. Shawn Chen, Dr. Chen Sikun, and Dr. Matthew Liao-Troth officially opened the exhibition.

Sias' First International Photography Exhibition received more than 2,000 submissions, with 280 photographs being showcased finally.
