After 3 days of intensive training, Sias' 2015 Summer Conference was concluded on July 23. The Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, Party Secretary Fei Hexiang, President Chen Sikun, Vice President Liu Shuqin, Deputy Party Secretary Li Huafeng, Proctor Han Xiaoai, Supervisor Xiao Yun Long, Former President Li Haijun attended this conference, along with members and representatives of the various colleges and departments of Sias.

Dr. Shawn Chen spoke of his concern for the personal development of employees, and the smooth development and work of the administrative and education departments. Wang Xiaoquan, the Director of the Academic Affairs Office, spoke of strengthening and improving the quality of education, the construction of schools, improving the quality of teaching, and new methods of higher education development. He also pointed out that the improvement of the quality of higher education in China was based on features of international development, and science, among other things. The participants discussed the improvement of the teaching quality, research, modes of English teaching, and graded teaching. Group discussions were a key aspect of this conference.

Fei Hexiang, the Party Secretary, spoke about strengthening teachers’ ethics and the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture and thought. Collective learning and self-study were to aid the integration of theory and practice. Han Xiaoai reminded the teachers that the quality of teaching was the lifeline of colleges and universities and that the evaluation of teachers would help improve the level of education in a variety of ways.

In addition to the training, there were military band performances, basketball games, and other recreational activities.

In conclusion, Dr. Shawn Chen thanked the participants for their hard work. He also encouraged them to put a 5-year development plan into practice with a change of thinking, a joint effort, and a focus on excellence.
