2015 Opening Ceremony

On the morning of September 14, Sias International University held its Opening Ceremony for the freshmen of the academic year 2015/16. The chief guests included the CEO of Toonz Animation Group, Jayakumar Prabhakaran Nair, the Director of Toonz Entertainment New Zealand, Mark Nicholls, Business Executive, Sach Chandaria, Director of Inspiree, Marc Fishman, President and Owner of Global Interactions Inc, Jerrie Ueberle, Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, Chairman of the Sias Foundation, Dr. Alan Brown, Sias President, Chen Sikun, Sias Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang, Vice President, Liu Shuqin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Proctor Han Xiaoai, and Senior Military Training Officer for the freshmen, Hu Jiangtao.

After the flag-raising ceremony, along with the national anthem, the freshmen were reviewed by Hu Jiangtao, Dr. Chen Sikun, and Dr. Alan Brown. The parade that followed involved over 7,000 freshmen students, and involved songs, military marches, and a variety of military formations.

Vice President, Liu Shuqin, announced the opening of the new academic year for the freshmen, and Hu Jiangtao announced the winners of the best performing teams. Dr. Shawn Chen concluded the ceremony with a speech on behalf of the school faculty, thanking the military instructors for their hard work, and congratulating the freshmen for completing the two weeks of military training. He hoped that this training would help them in the year to come, in their work, and in their life in general.
