Sias Business School Launches AACSB & IPDC Offices

March 11, 2015

Sias International University's School of Business has announced two new initiatives to begin the process of building the Sias brand and furthering the vision of an East-meets-West campus. This was the official launch of the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) office, and the International Program and Development Center (IPDC) office. The announcement was made on March 9, 2015, by Sias President Dr. Richard Li-Hua, Prof. Li Jie, Dean of the Business School, and Prof. Andrew Zhao, Associate Dean of the Business School.

The goal of the AACSB team, led by Michelle Brown, is to work towards full accreditation from AACSB International - a global, nonprofit membership organization of educational institutions, businesses, and other entities devoted to the advancement of management education. The organization was established in 1916 and provides its members with a variety of products and services to assist them with the continuous improvement of their business programs and schools. This will be a long journey for Sias, but the leaders hope that the process will be a learning journey; one that will lead to great accomplishments for the Business School, and in turn set a benchmark for other Sias academics schools.

The International Program and Development Center (IPDC), led by Wang Fei, will focus on teaching programs, student exchange programs, training programs for business executives, professional skills training, as well as exploring business opportunities for various income-generating projects. The IPDC has set aggressive goals for a high percentage of international students and international staff members for the Sias business programs. The team will begin by recruiting professors with terminal degrees, both in China and overseas, as well as recruiting exchange students for the business programs.

The Business school has a new look, and renovations are underway to cement the new look to the new initiatives and the vision for global higher education at Sias.
