2012-2013 Study Abroad Mobilization Conference

On November 6, Sias International University held the 2012-2013 Study Abroad Mobilization Conference. The Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, and leaders from the Student Affairs Office, International Cooperation & Exchange Department (ICED), the School of International Education, and the School of Chinese Language and Culture, attended the conference.


Dr. Shawn Chen first spoke about the university's philosophy of "Nurturing international talent", and the importance of the studying abroad experience for one's personal development from his own experience. He then gave students a detailed introduction to studying abroad including the benefits, the reality, the advantages for Sias students, the preparation required, and the application process. He also advised students to choose countries that have advantages in education and economic fields.


Wang Huan, Gui Pingping, and William Lu, all of whom have studied abroad in the United States and now work at Sias, spoke about Fort Hays State University, the University of Akron, and Antioch University (Los Angeles) respectively. They spoke about customs, basic necessities, part-time jobs, tuition, and scholarships.


The School of International Education will hold a Studying Abroad Exhibition on November 7. Several studying abroad agencies will be available for students to consult, and over 40 universities will provide the information for exchanges.
