Sias International University held the 2012 Commencement on May 27. University leaders and visitors from China and abroad attended the event, including the President of Fort Hays State University, Dr. Edward Hammond, the Vice President of Fort Hays State University, Cynthia Elliott, Vice Chairman of the Kansas State Board of Regents, Timothy Emert, the President of Sias Foundation, Dr. Alan Brown, and the Vice President of Zhengzhou University, Zhang Qianhong.

The commencement began with thousands of Sias graduates in baccalaureate gowns marching into the stadium. Sias President, Li Haijun, hosted the event and Dr. Shawn Chen introduced the guests. In his speech, Dr. Shawn Chen encouraged the graduates to make unremitting efforts to improve and fulfill their potential and contribute to the development of society. It was followed by the speeches by Zhang Qianhong, Dr. Edward Hammond, Dr. Alan Brown, Teachers' Representative, Zhang Dexue, and Graduate Representative, Lin Xiaomeng.

After the speeches, a variety of prizes were awarded to graduates by Sias leaders and Dr. Edward Hammond.
