From June 18 to 21, Sias International University held the first knockout round and quarter-finals (C&D regions) of the 14th Chinese University Basketball Association (CUBA) tournament in the Basketball Arena. Eight women's basketball teams and eight men's basketball teams competed for two places in the semi-finals. At the end of the rounds, the women's teams from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and the Shandong University of Science and Technology, advanced to the semifinals, while the men's teams from the Taiyuan University of Technology, and Zhejiang University advanced to the semifinals..

Though the tournament was held during the final week of classes at Sias, students showed their passion for the sport by packing the Basketball Arena. The Sias cheerleading team performed during half-time.

The President of the CUBA, Zhang Ningfei, stated that he hoped the CUBA tournament not only provided a chance for the players to experience teamwork but also enriched the extracurricular life of Sias students.
