On July 12, Sias International University held the opening ceremony of the 20th "HuaGuang" Basketball Tournament of Henan University Students in the CUBA Training Facility. The tournament was organized by the Henan Department of Education, Sias International University, and the Henan Student Sports Association. The Director of the Sports, Sanitation, and Arts Department at the Henan Department of Education, Guo Weiwei, the Deputy Director of the Sports, Sanitation, and Arts Department at the Henan Department of Education, Gao Xiang, the Director of the Henan University Sports Association, Lin Keming, the Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, and Sias Vice President, Wu Tiejun, attended the ceremony.

Wu Tiejun delivered a speech at the beginning and welcomed all the leaders, basketball teams, and referees. He said that Sias always put a great emphasis on sports because it was through competition that students would understand the importance of perseverance and improve their ability to manage stress. This was followed by a speech by Dr. Shawn Chen. He stated that he hoped that the relationships between the universities in the province of Henan would become stronger through this competition. He also shared his expectation that all the players would show their talent and enjoy themselves.

After the representatives of the athletes, and the referees took their oaths, Guo Weiwei announced the opening of the tournament.

In the opening match, Zhengzhou University's men's basketball team defeated the team from the Athletic College of Henan University, 67 to 56.

The tournament will last for 8 days, with over 600 students from 50 university basketball participating in it.
