Sias hosts annual Chinese University Basketball Association Summer Camp

Sias International University held the opening ceremony of the annual Chinese University Basketball Association (CUBA) Summer Camp on August 1. The Director of the Sports, Sanitation, and Arts Department at the Henan Department of Education, Guo Weiwei, the Vice President and Secretary-General of the CUBA, Chen Nansheng, the Deputy Secretary-General of the CUBA, Liu Jinlin, the Deputy Secretary-General of the CUBA, Luo Yonghong, the Head Coach of the Brigham Young University - Hawaii Campus basketball team, Ken Wanger, and university leaders including the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, Sias President, Li Haijun, and Vice President, Wu Tiejun, attended the ceremony.


Dr. Shawn Chen delivered a speech at the beginning and welcomed all the leaders, coaches, participants, and referees. He spoke about the recent efforts made to improve the athletic facilities at Sias and the achievements of the students. He said that he hoped that all participants would improve their basketball skills and communication with their teammates.


Chen Nansheng thanked Dr. Shawn Chen for his support of the development and growth of the CUBA Summer Camp at Sias. He encouraged students to make good use of this opportunity. It was followed by a speech by Ken Wanger. He said it was a great honor for him to attend the summer camp, and hoped all the camp members would enjoy themselves. Liu Jinlin and Head Judge, Shi Quanzhu, listed the rules and regulations of the summer camp, following which, Guo Weiwei announced the formal opening of the camp.


The summer camp will last for 12 days, with over 1,400 basketball players taking part in it.
