2012 Military Training Opening Ceremony

On the morning of September 3, Sias International University held the 2012 Freshmen Military Training Opening Ceremony at the Track & Field Stadium. The attendees included a representative of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (Zhengzhou Branch), Fang Qian, university leaders, and almost 7,000 newly-enrolled freshmen.


The meeting started with the singing of the national anthem of the People's Republic of China. Then, freshman representative, Zhang Zhenxing, delivered a speech. She hoped that all the freshmen would grow to be more disciplined and punctual after the training.


In closing, the Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, delivered a speech. On behalf of all the faculty and students, he welcomed all military training instructors and the freshmen. He briefly introduced the university's educational philosophy, the academic quality of the faculty, and Sias' student-centered setup. He said students would face many difficulties that in the coming years and military training will help prepare them for these challenges. He encouraged the freshmen to establish good friendships with their classmates and instructors during the military training.
