Sias Delegation visits National University of Laos

During the winter break, a delegation of 14 Sias instructors and students visited the National University of Laos for 7 days.


During the visit, the Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the University of Laos and the Officer-in-Charge of Sino-Laotian Affairs introduced the history and development of the university from various aspects including the features of university operations, the scale, settings, model of education, partner universities, its history, distinctive academic majors, living and studying conditions, and the campus activities. Students from both universities talked about their universities, their learning methods, habits, and cultural features, and exchanges. The Laotian students left a deep impression on the Sias delegation. The delegation also visited the capital, Vientiane, Vang Vieng, and Luang Prabang.


Founded in 1995, the National University of Laos is a comprehensive university in Vientiane. It has 11 academic schools and 9 research centers. It has 36,000 students, including 200 international students. It has established cooperative relationships with over 130 foreign universities, training centers, and organizations, with whom it conducts training, lectures, exchange programs, cooperative programs, and postgraduate programs.
