From October 30 to November 4, Sias International University held its annual International Culture Week. The week-long event attracted many visitors from other universities and communities who came to learn about various cultures and watch special performances.
During the International Culture Week, each day is designated for a different region - China Day, Asia Day, Africa & Latin America Day, Europe Day, and North America Day. What was different this year was that the show was really international and cross-cultural. There were many performances on Africa & Latin America Day because Sias had a lot of foreign teachers from those regions. On North America Day, some teachers from the United States put on a show. They introduced U.S. history to Chinese students through their performances.
There were a lot of visitors to Sias just to see the International Culture Week, and it really embodies the spirit and educational philosophy of Sias. Each day had scheduled events that introduced many topics to the students and visitors - there was a show of traditional Chinese clothes on China Day, and an Italian Festival on European Day. Each day focuses on different things in a bid to add to students' knowledge of other countries and cultures. Students learn about a country's capital, language, clothes, architecture, and many other things. Through the International Culture Week, students learn about and begin to understand places they may never visit, or learn about in their textbooks.
