He said that the Sias Communist Party Committee prioritized the creation and implementation of ideological and political courses. Sias had implemented the directives from the National Provincial Education Conference and the Ideological and Political Work Conference for Colleges and Universities. This included the deepening of reform and innovation of ideological and political theory courses, and guided outlines for the creation of ideological and political theory courses. He said that these courses should be conducted in a down-to-earth manner with the fundamental tasks of nurturing moral citizens. In this year's Communist Party history learning and educational activities, Sias had instituted fora for focusing on Communist Party History and ideological and political education.
This was followed by speeches on ideological and political education, and Communist Party History education by Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Secretary of the Communist Youth League, Ding Yi, Dean of the School of Marxism, Guo Xuede, Party Secretary of the School of Business, Zhu Haitao, Deputy Party Secretary of the Zhiyuan Residential College and the School of Journalism & Communication, Gu Jiahui, faculty representatives from the School of Marxism, and student representatives of the Chinese Language & Literature academic major.
After the speeches and presentation of reports, Sun Xiaohong approved of the results achieved by the ideological and political education and Communist Party history education of Sias. She put forward 4 points to increase the popularity of ideological and political education among students:
- First, one should stand firm and always keep the original intention of educating the people for the Party and talent for the nation. One should have a sense of responsibility toward their family and the country, nurture it through academic excellence and morality, and improve and reform the ideological and political education.
- Second, one should firmly grasp the leadership of ideological and political education for students through hard work, teaching, analysis, and practicality.
- Third, the content should be new and the ideological and political courses should adapt and evolve according to changes in events, times, and situations. The latest achievement of the Sinicization of Marxism should be integrated into the ideological and political courses in colleges and universities. At present, the study and implementation of the directives from the 5th Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee should be integrated into courses. One should focus on both large and small topics to enhance the importance and attractiveness of ideological and political courses.
- Fourth, the methodology should be flexible. One should be willing to adapt, and also use social media to teach ideological and political courses. The use of stories to convey ideals, beliefs, and sentiments to inspire people is also encouraged.
Deputy Mayor Sun Xiaohong then spoke about the new developments in Zhengzhou for talent-related policies. She told students that they should cherish their country, aim high, and shoulder greater responsibilities. She said that Zhengzhou had embarked on a new journey of building a modern and international city to provide a broad platform for young people to build a better life. She closed by saying that she hoped that students would contribute to Zhengzhou's development in the future.
