The Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform, Research, and Guidance Center held a meeting titled "Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform (Implementation) Guide" in the Sias Library on the 28th of June. The Director of the Department of Higher Education at the Henan Department of Education, Zhang Shuichao, the Secretary-General of the Henan Higher Education Society, Wu Changyun, and the Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education at the Henan Department of Education, Ji Shuangli, attended the meeting. The Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, Vice President, Xu Shengdao, and representative experts from the 6 sub-units of the Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform, Research, and Guidance Center, also attended the meeting. The Deputy Party Secretary of Boya Residential College, Liu Dongwei, who is also the Director of the Office of the Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform, Research, and Guidance Center, presided over the meeting.
Dr. Shawn Chen thanked the Department of Higher Education at the Henan Department of Education and the Henan Higher Education Association for their guidance and help through the years. He said that the fact that the Henan Department of Education had brought in the Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform, Research, and Guidance Center to Sias was a show of trust in Sias' work. He said that Sias would continue to work towards the reform and development of higher education in the province of Henan.
On behalf of the Henan Higher Education Society, Wu Changyun, read out the notice for the establishment of the Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform, Research, and Guidance Center, and the notice of appointment for the person in charge of the Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform, Research, and Guidance Center.
Xu Shengdao then delivered a speech on behalf of the Center. He said that the focus on the Center should be on the fundamental task of nurturing morality and talent for the purpose of educating people for the Communist Party and the nation by focusing on the key points of higher education reform and by promoting reform in the education models of colleges and universities in Henan. The goal is the make the Center an important research base and think tank in the field of college education model reform in Henan. He also explained the preliminary preparations, investigations, and ideological framework of the draft of the "Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform (Implementation) Guide" in detail. He said that he hoped that all members of the Center would put forward valuable suggestions.
The experts attending the meeting then discussed the draft of the "Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform (Implementation) Guide".
Zhang Shuichao delivered a speech after listening to the reports and suggestions from the experts. He first congratulated those involved in the establishment of the Center and spoke highly of the "Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform (Implementation) Guide" drafted by the Center, and expressed his thanks to Sias for its strong support. He said that the reform of a university system education model is a difficult task. He encouraged all units to work together and formulate plans based of the "Henan Academy System Educational Model Reform (Implementation) Guide" to provide an effective reference for colleges and universities in the province.
