On the 1st of July, Sias University held a meeting on educational reform and work commendation in colleges and universities in Henan, and a special work commendation meeting on newly added bachelor's degree specialties and discipline evaluation. The meeting was held to recognize groups and individuals who had made outstanding contributions to the creation and evaluation of academics at Sias. The Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Executive President, Wang Jialin, Deputy Party Secretary, and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Li Huafeng, Vice President, Zhao Yuxin, Vice President, Xu Shengdao, and Vice President, and Chairman of the Trade Union, Wu Hua, were all present for the meeting. The meeting was held in the School of Foreign Languages building.
Zhao Yuxin presented a comprehensive report on the evaluation and creation of Sias' bachelor's degree programs. He said that the level of commendations by the Henan Academic Degrees Committee reflected the level of the university, and had a far-reaching impact on the development of the university. Through the 8-month evaluation, leaders at all levels had prioritized this, while the faculty had made concerted efforts and preparations that had achieved positive results. He said that a number of excellent teaching staff and teams had emerged through this process. He said that the successful experience of the effective practices of evaluation should be taken as an opportunity to study and understand the various index systems of undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation. This should be followed by various evaluations and building work according to the standards set in place so that those involved can find problems and rectify them through the implementation of diverse solutions and through improved cooperation. He said that the overall situational awareness, responsibility, and teamwork should be improved to ensure a high quality and efficiency of evaluation for the sustained development of education.
Xu Shengdao delivered a speech titled, "On-the-spot Exchange Meetings for the Reform of the Education System in Colleges and Universities in Henan". He pointed out that at the on-the-spot meeting, the Henan Party Committee, the Henan Government, and the Henan Party Committee's College Working Committee had observed the results of the reform of education at Sias and had given their endorsement. He said that Sias had done concerning the improvement of its position, preparation, inter-departmental cooperation, participation, mutual exchanges, summaries, inspection, and reform. He said that through on-site exchange meetings on the reform of college education, the confidence in the reform of the college education system had grown and the sense of responsibility in nurturing morality had been improved. He encouraged those present to understand the purpose for on-site exchange meetings and continue to improve the educational system, thereby contributing to the development of education in Henan.
Following this, the university leaders awarded honorary certificates and prizes to the groups and individuals who had performed well.
Dr. Shawn Chen then delivered a speech. He said that the "On-the-spot Exchange Meetings for the Reform of the Education System in Colleges and Universities in Henan" and the "New Bachelors degree Awarding Units and Discipline Evaluation" were two very meaningful tasks since the founding of Sias. Evaluation had given the academics at Sias a platform, while the on-the-spot exchange meetings had improved the popularity and reputation of the university in the province of Henan. He said that he hoped that in the next step of the development of Sias, people would work together to achieve outstanding results and make positive contributions to the raising of the standard of the university.
