The 21st Huaguang Sports Meet for university students in Henan was held at the Henan University of Animal Husbandry and Economy from the 7th to the 12th of May. The competition involved representatives from 112 colleges and universities from across the province of Henan.

Sias University sent 27 athletes to participate in the competition. Under the leadership of the Dean of the School of Physical Education, He Zuxin, and the guidance of coaches and teachers, Sias University won two categories, finished as runners-up in 5 categories, and had 1 third-place finish. Zhao Pu won gold in the Women's Group B Javelin, and Zhao Ruoming won gold in the Women's Group B Discus Throw. Wang Hongrui won silver in the Men's Discus Throw, and Shot Put; Gao Senyu won silver in the Men's Group B 110 meter hurdles, and 400-meter hurdles; and Wang Congfang won silver in the Women's Group C Discus Throw. Wu Si won bronze in the Women's Group B 3,000 meters. Sias University finished in second place in the rankings of Men's Group B and finished in fourth place in overall rankings of Group B. Sias also won the Sportsmanship Award.
