The United States Consul General from the US consulate in Wuhan, Jamie Fouss, visited Sias University on the 17th of May. Consul General Fouss was accompanied by Consular Officer, Jeffrey Lakshas. The Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen met with the delegation from the US Consulate in Wuhan.

After a formal lunch on the 15th floor of the Library, the delegation visited the Kansas International School (KIS). They were met by the Dean of the Kansas International School, Matthew Schenk, and the Executive Vice President, Chu Jinjin, where they were given a brief introduction to the development and achievements of the School. The delegation then visited the School of Foreign Languages, where they met with the Vice Dean of the School of Music & Opera, Prof. Lang Xiaoming. Prof. Lang gave them a briefing on the joint program between the University of Arizona and Sias University.

Consul General Fouss and Jeffrey Lakshas then met with students and gave a presentation on the procedures and regulations for the application of student visas to the United States. Dr. Shawn Chen spoke to the students about studying abroad and the options that Sias University provides for exchanges and postgraduate study in the US. Following this, the delegation visited the Student Activity Center including several Student Associations. The visit concluded with a forum for Sias' foreign faculty, during which they held a Q&A session with teachers concerning consular services provided by the US Consulate in Wuhan.
