The President of the Henan Branch of People's Daily, Gong Jinxing, visited Sias University on the 4th of June. Gong Jinxing was accompanied by a reporter from the Henan channel of People's Daily, Shen Zhiyuan. Sias Deputy Party Secretary, and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Li Huafeng, met with the guests. Members of Sias' Propaganda Department, Communist Party Committee and Administration Office also met with the delegation.

Gong Jinxing was taken on a tour of the Sias campus that included the European Street, Student Activity Center, CUBA Training Facility, Mingli Residential College, Qixian Residential College, China Garden, Library, London Street, and School of Foreign Languages building. Gong Jinxing spoke of his appreciation of Sias' student-centered educational philosophy. He encouraged students to cherish the learning environment and work towards contributing to the development of the nation.

At a subsequent forum, the Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, welcomed Gong Jinxing and gave him a detailed introduction to Sias' history, educational philosophy, and residential college system. He said that he hoped that both sides would increase cooperation and exchanges in the future. Li Huafeng spoke about the ideological and political work carried out by the Party, and Sias' work for students' employment and entrepreneurship.

Gong Jinxing said that the structure and vision of Sias University were commendable. He said that he hoped that Sias would continue to nurture students and contribute to the international development of education in Henan and present outstanding achievements for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
