Gao Tijian, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) National Committee, and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Henan Provincial Committee, visited Sias University along with his delegation on March 26.

The delegation included Member of the CPPCC Henan Provincial Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Education, Science, Health & Sports Commission, Li Xinzhong; Second Level Inspector at the Henan Department of Education, Dong Yumin; Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC Henan Provincial Committee, and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Zhengzhou Municipal Committee, Li Xinyou; the Party Secretary of the Henan University of Engineering, Liu Xiangyu; Member of the CPPCC Henan Provincial Committee, President and Deputy Party Secretary of Zhongyuan University of Technology, Liu Guoji; Member of the CPPCC Henan Provincial Committee, Dean of the School of Materials & Chemical Engineering at the Zhongyuan University of Technology, Mi Liwei; the Director of the Investigation & Research Department of the Provincial Party Committee at the Rural Labor Party, Yao Yao; the Deputy Director of the Vocational Adult Education Department at the Henan Department of Education, Wang Kai; the Director of Education, Science, Health & Sports Committee of the Zhengzhou CPPCC Municipal Committee, Tang Yan; and the Deputy Director of the Zhengzhou Education Bureau, Ge Fei.

The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, and Vice President, and Chairman of the Trade Union, Wu Hua, met with the delegation. The Party Secretary of the Xinzheng Municipal Party Committee, Ma Zhifeng, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Xinzheng Municipal CPPCC, Li Zhiqiang, Vice Mayor of the Xinzheng People's Government, Zhou Jianchao, and the Vice Chairman of the Xinzheng Municipal CPPCC, Wang Haimin, also accompanied the delegation.

Gao Tijian and his delegation were taken on a tour of the Sias campus that included the Student Activity Center, CUBA Training Facility, Golf Driving Range, Chinese Garden, Huanyu Residential College, School of Foreign Languages, iFLYTEK Laboratory, Sias Library, London Street, Spanish Square, and other 'cultural towns', teaching facilities, student communities. The delegation was also introduced to Sias' smart campus, residential college system, integration of industry and education, and internationalized educational philosophy.

The delegation then met with Sias leaders in the Conference Room at the Sias Library.

Ma Jiansheng welcomed Gao Tijian and his delegation on behalf of the university and expressed his gratitude to the CPPCC Henan Provincial Committee for its long-term support for the development of Sias. Dr. Shawn Chen then spoke about the university's development, academic setting, educational philosophy, residential college system, integration of industry and education, and international characteristics.

Gao Tijian congratulated Sias University for its achievements. He pointed out that as a leader in the field of Sino-foreign cooperation in education in Henan, Sias had made up for the lack of first-class international educational resources in higher education in the province. He said that through field visits and research, Sias' high-quality education system was visible in four aspects:

- First, the high quality of teaching facilities, high level of teaching, and high standard of education;

- Second, the adaptation to social needs, the implementation of an elite education, and the nurturing of high-quality talent;

- Third, internationalization, modernization, and integration;

- Fourth, was the new ideas, new methods, and new content.

He also said that he hoped that Sias University will inspire the growth of residential colleges in other colleges and universities across Henan at an on-the-spot meeting of Henan colleges and universities for the purpose of exploring new methods of reform and growth.

Sias leaders said that the encouragement and guidance from Gao Tijian would help the development of Sias. His 4-point summary of Sias' contributions was very significant for everyone involved at the university. They said that they would implement his suggestions and continue to promote the growth of a high-quality education system.
