Sias University's 2021 Spring Track & Field Games were held on the 22nd and 23rd of April at the Track & Field Stadium. The Opening Ceremony was held on the morning of the 22nd. The Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Executive President, Wang Jialin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Vice President, Xu Shengdao, and Vice President, Zhao Yuxin, attended the ceremony. The heads of all departments, academic schools, and residential colleges were also present, as were over 1,000 teachers and students.
Xu Shengdao presided over the opening ceremony. It began with a large-scale parade that involved the Military Honor Guard, Marching Band, Student Union, World Academy for the Future of Women (WAFW), Parents' Supervision Committee, Student Assistants to the University Leaders, Referees, Academic Affairs Department, and Sias foreign faculty. There were representative teams from all academic schools and residential colleges, including the School of International Education (international students), the Sias Technical Secondary School, and the Sias Primary School. The parade was followed by several performances and tifo displays.
After the singing of the national anthem of the People's Republic of China, the torch lighting ceremony was held, led by Dr. Shawn Chen.
In the opening speech, Wang Jialin welcomed the leaders and guests and wished the staff and participating athletes well for the Games. He said that since the founding of Sias, physical education was an important part of the university's tradition. With the rapid development of sports and physical education on the national level, Sias has focused on improving its sports facilities through reform and education. He said that he hoped that all the athletes would exhibit team spirit and the Games would encourage both teachers and students to engage in sports.
After the swearing of the referees' oath and the athletes' oath, several large-scale performances were held in the stadium, focusing on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. There were also several graphic tifo displays, followed by powered paragliding. Ma Jiansheng then officially announced the beginning of the 2021 Track & Field Games.
After 2 full days of various competitions, the Closing Ceremony was held on the 23rd of April. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Executive President, Wang Jialin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Vice President, Xu Shengdao, and Vice President, Zhao Yuxin, were in attendance. Teachers, students, and representatives of the academic schools and residential colleges were also present.
The Dean of the School of Physical Education, He Zuxin, announced the final results of the Games. The Deputy Director of the Committee for Evaluation, Bai Meng, announced the awards, and Xu Shengdao presented the Spiritual Civilization (Sportsmanship) Award. Zhao Yuxin presented awards, Wang Jialin presented awards to the best male and female athletes, and Ma Jiansheng presented the top 3 group awards.
Ma Jiansheng delivered the closing speech. He declared the 2021 Track & Field Games a success and said that it had showcased the spirit of the university in combination with the Communist Party's education policy. He said that the Games would motivate teachers and students to sign up for the various sports activities at the university. He encouraged the entire university's staff and students to focus on their health and combine that with hard work and progress.
