On January 11, an 8 member delegation from the Henan Department of Education visited Sias University. The delegation included the Director of the Student Affairs Department, Li Peijun, and the Deputy Director, Zhao Shinming; the Deputy Director of the Development & Planning Department, Yang Bing, the Deputy Director of the Vocational Adult Education Department, Ren Yuan, and the Deputy Director of the Sports, Health, and Arts Department, Li Zongying. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, and Sias Vice President, Xu Shengdao met with the delegation.

Dr. Chen accompanied the delegation on a tour of several departments at Sias including the Administration Office, the Admissions Office, Student Activity Center, School of Physical Education, CUBA Training Facility, Sias Library, and other parts of the Sias campus.

At a meeting held in the library, Dr. Chen welcomed the delegation from the Henan Department of Education and thanked them for their support to Sias. He said that he hoped to discuss the development of academic schools with the delegation.

Li Peijun spoke of his appreciation of Sias' educational philosophy that combined elements of Chinese and Western education, its unique campus culture, facilities, and intelligent campus. He said that Sias University is an example of Sino-foreign cooperation in the running of educational institutions in the province of Henan. The development of Sias, he said, had grown from strength to strength, and the delegation's visit aimed to understand the work carried out at the university.

The Dean of the School of Physical Education, He Zuxin, presented a report on the enrollment at the School of Physical Education, focusing on the necessity of peer enrollment. The Dean of the School of Music & Opera, Jiang Jinyi, presented a report on the preparations for enrollment at the School. The Vice Dean of the School of Music & Opera, Lang (Larry) Xiaoming, presented a report on the cooperative project between Sias and the University of Arizona and spoke about the problems with regard to enrollment.

Li Peijun spoke about the development and economic growth in Henan, emphasizing the necessity for the development in Sports and Music Education. He encouraged Sias to pursue this avenue of development for the nurturing of talent for the province and said that the Henan Department of Education would communicate and cooperate with the university for these goals.
