Wang Zhuoya, a student at Sias University's Kansas International Institute (KII) won the grand prize at the provincial level (Henan) of the National English Competition for College Students (NECCS).
This year, 112 students from KII signed up for the preliminary round of the 2020 National English Competition for College Students. From the total 559 participants, 5 students from Sias made it to the final 10. Wang Zhuoya, a student majoring in Finance, took first place in the non-English Major category and participated in the overall final at the Henan Province Stage of the national competition.
The NECCS is the only comprehensive English competition jointly organized by the College Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and the College Foreign Language Teaching Research Association. Since the NECCS was launched, Sias' KII has set up a special training team to conduct multiple rounds of selection, training, and guidance for the contestants.
The Kansas International Institute has prioritized the teaching of English, and the comprehensive nurturing of students' English level. It has organized competitions and has held special counseling sessions as well. It has taken the National English Competition for College Students (NECCS) as an important platform for nurturing the application and ability of the students' English language proficiency.
