22nd International Culture Week Finale

Sias University held its International Culture Week Finale, the closing ceremony of the International Culture Week, on November 7. A number of guests were present at the ceremony including a Puyang Education delegation, a delegation from the Zhengzhou Foreign Language Middle School, and the Senior Partner of the Guangzhou Jinpeng Law Firm. The Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, was also present along with Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Executive President, Wang Jialin, and other university leaders.


After the singing of the national anthem of the People's Republic of China, Dr. Chen delivered a speech. He pointed out that since the founding of Sias University, it had integrated the culture of China with those of foreign countries, with the goal of producing high-level talent with global competence. He said that the International Culture Week was a tradition at Sias and had been held successfully for the past 22 years. With its focus on internationalization, it had held nearly 100 projects and over 30 lectures during the week. Dr. Chen said that the International Culture Week provided a stage for students to learn about various cultures to broaden their horizons and improve their cross-cultural communication.


The President of Fort Hays State University (FHSU), Dr. Tisa Mason, delivered a speech through a pre-recorded video. She said that she was honored to cooperate with Sias University, and the International Culture Week was a great opportunity for students to explore international music, food, clothing, and cultures. The Vice President for Global Initiatives at California Baptist University (CBU), Dr. Larry Linamen, also delivered a speech through a pre-recorded video. He spoke highly of the cooperation between the two universities and said that he was happy to participate in Sias' International Culture Week.


Sias' Foreign Faculty Representative, Eric Valdois, said that he hoped that through the International Culture Week, students would be able to experience different cultures directly through food, clothing, games, and performances, thereby getting a more extensive understanding of the world. The International Student Representative spoke of students' learning experience at Sias. He said that students had learned about traditional Chinese culture and the customs of various countries around the world.


The International Culture Week is one of Sias University's most important traditions. It has been held for 22 consecutive years.
