The Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Association of Higher Education (CAHE), Jiang Enlai, visited Sias University on October 14. He was accompanied by the Administrative Consultant and former Director of the Service Bureau at the Ministry of Education, Zhang Wenzhong, and the Director of the Academic & Exchange Department at CAHE, Gao Xiaojie.
The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, and Sias Vice President and Chairman of the Trade Union, Wu Hua, accompanied the delegation from CAHE on a campus tour that included Sias' North Gate, Golf Driving Range, CUBA Training Facility, Chinese Garden, Huanyu Residential College, School of Foreign Languages, iFLYTEK Laboratory, Student Activity Center, and Library. They also visited Sias' London Street, French Street, Italian Square, German Street, and Spanish Square.
After the campus tour, in the afternoon, Sias held a meeting with the CAHE delegation on the 15th floor of the Library. The delegation met with Sias leaders, and the heads of the Academic Affairs & Scientific Research Office, the Office of International Affairs, the Human Resources Department, and the Zhiyuan Residential College. Wu Hua presided over the meeting.
The delegation was first shown Sias' official promotional video, after which Dr. Chen welcomed them. He spoke about the combination of Chinese and Western culture for the nurturing of talent. He spoke in detail about Sias' scale, educational philosophy, organizational structure of the Communist Party, the Communist Youth League, academia, awards, and achievements. He also explained the 3 pillars of Sias' educational model - liberal education + holistic education + integrated education. He also gave a detailed introduction of the training methods that combined production and education, the residential college system, the advantages of an international educational institute, and the student-centered system. He concluded his talk by reiterating Sias' commitment to international higher education and cooperation platforms such as the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and the Association of Universities of Asia & the Pacific (AUAP) to assist the Chinese Association of Higher Education (CAHE) with the organization of high-level academic activities and the nurturing of talent across China.
Jiang Enlai thanked Sias University on behalf of CAHE. He said that outstanding talent from Sias had helped build a bridge between the university and CAHE through exchanges. He also praised Dr. Chen for his contributions in the field of education. He said that the unique architectural style, cutting-edge international education, and cultural activities at Sias gave students a chance to experience a range of cultures from around the world without leaving the camps. He said that he hoped that the two sides would engage in substantial cooperation, and make use of each other's resources to promote the both Sias University and the Chinese Association of Higher Education (CAHE).
The two sides continued to have in-depth exchanges and discussions based on educational cooperation, the internationalization of education, and the setting up of international fora.
