Sias University's 19th Mental Health Education Month for students was launched on October 20. Sias Vice President, Xu Shengdao, and Tan Haibo, an expert in mental health education from Central South University were present, along with leaders from Sias' Communist Party Office, residential colleges, and representatives of teachers and educational tutors. The Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office and Executive Vice President of the General Office of Residential Colleges, Bai Meng, presided over the ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Xu Shengdao spoke about the significance of mental health and the achievements of mental health education at Sias. He also put forward requirements from this year's Mental Health Education Month. The Director of the Mental Health Education & Consultation Center, Hu Huili, read out the list of activities planned for the month. Mao Hui, an educational tutor, spoke about his experiences with mental health education. Student representatives from volunteer groups proposed that students participate in the scheduled activities and give mental health its due importance. Prof. Tang Haibo then delivered a speech titled "Identification and Coping Strategies of Common Mental Disorders of College Students".

On the afternoon of the 21st of October, on-the-spot psychological evaluations and psychological consultations were held in Sias' Red Square. Experts from the Zhengzhou Mental Health Organization and provincial colleges and universities worked together with volunteers from Sias to provide on-site psychological consultation and evaluations for teachers and students. The activity involved 107 people in the on-site consultation and over 500 participants in the psychological evaluation. Later in the evening, Prof. Shang Yuhong, an Associate Professor at the Henan University of Technology, gave a lecture on the responsibilities and working principles of committee members.

The 19th Mental Health Education Month will last for 4 weeks. Activities during the month include group psychological counseling, psychological film appreciation, a silent vs. vocal mental health sign language competition, professional psychological knowledge training, and a psychological consensus of 2020 freshmen that aims at guiding students with strengthening their mental health awareness.
