The 11th Seminar on Brand Competitiveness in Higher Education in Henan, and Awards Ceremony of the "Yellow River Education Award", sponsored by Henan Daily, was held on the afternoon of September 22, in Zhengzhou. Sias Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, attended the seminar along with staff from the Sias Communist Party Committee. Sias University was awarded the '2020 Henan Top 10 Model Brand Universities of Higher Education'.

Since the launch of the 2020 Yellow River Education Awards in April, over 150 colleges and universities in Henan registered for the online vote. After the evaluation round and voting, universities were selected for the '2020 Henan Top 10 Model Brand Universities of Higher Education', '2020 Henan Top 10 Model Demonstration Universities of Higher Education', '2020 Domestic High-Quality Employment Demonstration Universities' and the '2020 Henan Vocational Education Model Brand Colleges', among other awards.

At the seminar, experts and scholars focused closely on how to enhance competitiveness and influence in the Henan Higher Education brand, and how to improve the level and development of higher education in the province. The Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Higher Education, Hao Qingjie, delivered a keynote speech titled, "New Reflections on Building a Modern Higher Education System". Eight award-winning delegates also delivered speeches. Later, leaders and guests at the seminar had exchanges.

Li Huafeng said that Sias University would continue to focus on the nurturing of talent, the introduction of domestic and international high-quality educational resources, deepen the integration of industry and education, and justify the title of Model Brand University in the province of Henan by contributing to the development and education of Central China.
