2020 Freshman Choral Competition

Sias University's annual Freshman Choral Competition was held on September 23. The theme of the competition was based on the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, including the importance of education and the necessity of following the guidelines during the pandemic. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, was present at the competition, as was Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, and Vice President, Xu Shengdao. The Chief Guest was the former Executive Vice President of Gengdan College at Beijing University of Technology, Ding Xiaoling.


The competition began with the singing of the national anthem of the People's Republic of China.


In his speech, Dr. Chen pointed out the importance of the theme of this year's competition. He said that he hoped that through the competition, students would improve their awareness of the pandemic, remember their responsibilities and foster a renewed sense of patriotism to the nation.


Throughout the competition, teams from each of Sias' residential colleges performed different patriotic songs, focusing on the contributions of front-line workers in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
