The founding meeting of the Puyang Chapter of the Sias (University) Alumni Association was held on September 24, in Weifan Yule Park in Puyang. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, Sias Vice President and Chairman of the Trade Union, Wu Hua, and Secretary-General of the Sias Council, Wang Wei, attended the inaugural meeting. They were accompanied by the heads of the Office of International Affairs, the School of Physical Education, and the School of Music & Opera. Almost 60 members of the Sias alumni from Puyang gathered to witness the founding of the Puyang Chapter of the Sias University Alumni Association. Wang Chuanli, a graduate of the class of 2008, presided over the meeting.

The meeting began with Sias' official promotional video being shown to those in attendance. Dr. Shawn Chen followed this with a speech in which he congratulated the members of the Puyang Chapter. He spoke about Sias' history, achievements, academic course creation, and training of talent. He said that Sias alumni from Puyang had made significant contributions to local social and economic development, especially in the field of education. He said that Sias would provide support to the Puyang Chapter and he hoped that it would strive towards achieving great things.

The Honorary President of the Puyang Chapter of the Sias Alumni Association, Shang Lifeng, and the President, Wang Chuanli, donated a special scholarship to Sias. Wu Hua received the donation on behalf of Sias and thanked the alumni for their generosity.

Sias leaders and the alumni from Puyang then spent time talking about their experiences and memories at Sias. Members of the Puyang Chapter said that they would strive to contribute to the development of their alma mater.

The establishment of the Puyang Chapter of the Sias Alumni Association marks a significant step in the history of the Alumni Association, as it works towards building a platform for cooperation and exchanges between the alumni and their alma mater, and between alumni as well.
