The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias University, Dr. Shawn Chen, visited the city of Puyang on September 24. Dr. Chen was invited by Municipal Government of Puyang, and met with the Mayor of Puyang, Yang Qingjiu. Dr. Chen was accompanied by Sias Vice President and Chairman of the Trade Union, Wu Hua, the Secretary-General of the Sias Council, and the heads of Sias' Office of International Affairs, School of Physical Education, and School of Music & Opera. The Deputy Mayor of Puyang, Sun Yongzhen, presided over the meeting.

During the meeting, Yang Qingjiu welcomed Dr. Chen and the Sias delegation on behalf of the Puyang Municipal Government and thanked Sias University for its support to Puyang over the years. He said that Puyang was at a critical period in its transformation towards high-quality development. He said that he hoped that Sias, with its talent, capital, and technology, would help Puyang upgrade its level of education, and promote scientific and technological innovation. He also said that the Municipal Government of Puyang and the Puyang Party Committee would provide efficient services to contribute towards the development of Sias University, and promote the implementation of cooperative projects.

Dr. Chen said that he was confident that cooperation in projects would take place soon. He thanked the Puyang Party Committee and the Puyang Municipal Government for their support of Sias over the years. He said that Sias would cooperate with Puyang in education and help lay solid foundations for cooperation. He also said that Sias would contribute to the improvement of the urban quality of Puyang and its economic and social development.

The two sides agreed that a mechanism for promoting cooperative projects would be established, and a special working group would be set up to deal with this coordination that would involve daily contact, business exchanges, and the implementation of cooperative projects.

Before the meeting, the Sias delegation visited the Puyang Petrochemical Vocational & Technical College, the Puyang Medical College, the Puyang Acrobatic Art School, and the Puyang Freestyle BMX Team's Training Facility, along with the Deputy Mayor of Puyang, Sun Yongzhen, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Puyang Municipal Government, Ge Lei, and the Director of the Puyang Municipal Education Bureau, Gao Shanggong.
