The Party Secretary of the Taiyuan University of Technology, Zheng Qiang, visited Sias University on September 26 and 27. He was accompanied by the Deputy Party Secretary, Li Jinping, Vice President, Lü Yongkang, and Vice President, Wu Douqing. Representatives of Taiyuan University of Technology's Communist Party Committee, President's Office, Department of Learning & Work, Graduate School, Institute of Science & Technology, Development Planning Department, Logistics Department, Communist Youth League, and School of Art, were also part of the delegation that visited Sias.

On the morning of the 27th, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, and Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, met with Zheng Qiang and his delegation and accompanied them on a tour of the Sias campus that included Sias' Cultural Towns (French Street, Italian Square, German Street, Spanish Square), the Student Activity Center, CUBA Training Facility, Golf Driving Range, Chinese Garden, Library, and School of Foreign Languages.

In the afternoon, the delegation from the Taiyuan University of Technology had a meeting with the Sias leadership. Dr. Shawn Chen and Ma Jiansheng were joined by Executive President, Wang Jialin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Vice President, Xu Shengdao, and Vice President and Chairman of the Trade Union, Wu Hua.

The leaders first watched Sias' official promotional video. Ma Jiansheng then welcomed the delegation from the Taiyuan University of Technology and gave them an introduction to the history, development, educational philosophy, teaching quality, and achievements. He also spoke of his appreciation of Taiyuan University of Technology's heritage and distinct characteristics. He said that he hoped that Sias would learn from the university while improving cooperation and exchanges for common development at the same time.

Dr. Chen spoke about Sias' concept, organizational structure, Communist Party Committee, Communist Youth League, academic courses, awards, and achievements. He spoke about Sias' combination of liberal education, holistic education, and integrated education, with the combination of education in industries (production) and the residential college system. He said that he hoped that Sias and the Taiyuan University of Technology would have deep ties and cooperation, particularly with regard to the opening up of education and the introduction of world-class educational resources.

Zheng Qiang spoke about his appreciation of Sias' achievements over the past 20 years and Dr. Shawn Chen's contribution to education. He said that Sias' student-centered model was showing results with its graduates' contributions to the region's economic and social development.

The two sides then carried out discussions on the nurturing of internationalized talent, educational concepts, and innovation.

The delegation from the Taiyuan University of Technology attended Sias University's Freshman Military Parade and the 2020 Candlelight Ceremony. Zheng Qiang was a guest speaker at the Candlelight Ceremony.
